I didn't expect much from this book except applying the law of attraction by affirmations from the mala but was I wrong. It described in detail how it works and explains scenarios of how to use it. I meditate and also do affirmations but it is not enough, this book which I bought gives it the final punch to manifesting. Just knowing the law of attraction is not enough. Knowing how to use the mala in conjunction with LOA seals the deal. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Magic Mala". I just couldn't wait to turn the next page, I was engrossed in the book. This is a very inspiring and uplifting book. I plan on introducing this book to the book club I just joined. I also plan on buying the book for friends. For me to miss a Seinfeld episode to want to read this book means that I REALLY enjoyed reading it. lol I read it in no time, not wanting it to end. I highly recommend it.

This book has really opened my eyes to many new ways of working with my mala. I made a string of prayer beads --mala-- a few years ago for myself. Made it for stress relief and to work with mantras and the Divine Feminine. I love my mala even though it is quite simple - not a fancy beaded one-used what I had which was all I could get. I know from using it how much it helped my health and mind. Your book though has given me so many new ideas! I'm excited to practice them. I wanted to love this book, because I think it's so important to have more spiritual novels in the world. Given the excellent reviews, for the most part, I thought this would be right up my alley. Unfortunately, the story comes across as too simple, too preachy, and the characters do not have to face any obstacles.Everything just sails on, as if the novel would have been written by a 15-year old. I also found the wife quite dumb and irresponsible. They don't have money to eat anything but mac and cheese from a box, but she goes out and has a sundae? And they owe several months of rent, but she signs up for a new apartment and just thinks it's OK not to pay her current landlord?I understand the thought behind it - have faith and everything will work out. BUT, this faith should not include scamming and cheating other people. The universe (or God) doesn't work that way. you have to act in the best interest of all involved.This book would have been much better as non-fiction. Unless you're new to spirituality, this book will definitely not change your life.

This book was not what I expected. This book is more on manifestation and limited beliefs. Other than the beautiful color picture on the front of the map, its not worth the paper its printed on. The map unfolds into a view of a million to one ratio of Ukraine. There is no "key" or guides for what you are looking at. No street guides, nothing. Just a gigantic map of an entire country, crunched down into a nearly unreadable format. It would be impossible to navigate this country with this map. I know, I just came back from my trip. I tried to give the map as a gift to the people i was visiting, and no one wanted it. I ended up throwing this map in the trash. I couldn't even use it for fireplace starter material. Don't waste your money on this cute picture.

The map is huge and detailed. Only problem I had with it was that the map gets cut in half for exactly where I needed it so you have to keep flipping the map over from front to back

Excellent large scale map of the country with lots of detail. Sufficiently detailed to follow progress of events in the Donbas War on the ground.

Wished we had the entire country on one side of the map. This is being displayed on the wall of our family room because our son is serving an LDS mission in Ukraine.

While the map covers a large area and is very comprehensive, it is also very large and unwieldy and for this reason was not as useful as I had hoped.

Very helpful in planning my trip to the Ukraine. I would recommend this map to others. Can write a better review after my visit.

Reading fast while maintaining good comprehension has always been a challenge for me. I love how Nathan first addresses with utmost clarity the specifics of the problem in lacking the ability to read fast. I have to admit all the three problems occur to me most of the time. As I went through the reading and non-reading techniques, I learned so much. Will definitely practice the techniques written in this book.Although I do not think speed reading is applied to all kinds of reading (leisure reading, poems, etc.), one cannot deny its usefulness to a lot of circumstances.I highly recommend this book. Whether you're a student who has a lot of readings to go through, a researcher in the sciences who reads scientific journals, a lawyer with numerous cases being read everyday or someone who wants to improve speed reading (while maintaining comprehension of course), this book is for you.

Having recently purchased college textbooks, I'm no stranger to the dull, boring process of actually reading through one. It's only natural to progress through something slowly when you have no motivation. Sick of re-reading the same passages over when i wasn't comprehending them, I decided to root out the problem altogether and give speed reading a try. The low price and (thankfully) low number of pages helped me get back to my task quickly, only this time I was prepared. The book doesn't waste any time and delves immediately into the basics of speed reading, which is actually much easier than it sounds, before handing you several fun, easy speed building exercises. It details how to pinpoint information that is relevant, quickly process it, and move on. Delivers on it's promise in a shockingly short 32 pages. I'd definitely give it a try, it practically pays for itself.

I can't believe just how fast I am now reading after working through this book. I have heard people say before that it was possible, but with Nathan's help, I really have been able to get it working.Nathan starts by explaining why it is so important to read fast. We are hit all of the time with too much information and too little time. The only solution here is to be able to consume that information faster. Though, why don't we all do it if it is so easy?The answer as Nathan explains is because of a number of obstacles. He goes through each of these barriers including Retreating, The Voice and word Fixation and explains how to overcome them.He points out that it isn't just speed, but comprehension. Our brains can handle the additional information and we allow our believed limitations get in the way of reaching our potential.Finally, he goes step by step through measuring how fast you are now, the key techniques and then finishes up with some exercises and strategies.This was a great read and now that I am speed reading, I should be able to stop wasting time and get more information faster.

I was very pleasantly surprised that I am now able to read faster than before. The author easily explains the obstacles we have and how to overcome them. By the time you finish the book you will be able to measure how fast youâ€™re reading and can continue to practice with the techniques and exercises he gives. I wish I had read this book when I was in school! I received a discount in exchange for an honest and unbiased review and all opinions are based on my personal experience.

However, over the years I didn't really think about it all that much and as a result I realise by reading this book I had fallen back into some bad habits.It was an easy read with some good practical exercises and excellent basic overview if speed reading.I also applies speed reading to this book and flew through it :-)

This are the answers I have been looking for four a very long time, for years I ask the living creator to show me the way to change the world around me, how do I show love to Mother Earth? I always looked into the universe and stars to hear the answers because I new that the answers were out there.Now I understand the events I have experience during the night when I notice I was been taken somewhere to learn and to participate and do my part in this amazing work I'm part of!

Ever since I found out about Dolores Cannon's work and her books I've been really interested in them. I wanted to see all her videos, meet her, get a session myself and of course devour all of the books she wrote so this was the first one I bought as I identified myself with one of those waves. For those interested in past/present/future life times being altered by our deeds in the current era and how much knowledge is at our fingertips yet hidden by the mainstream media as some sort of occultism, this book and others she wrote are for you! You will feel identified with many things mentioned in it and feel a deep loving resonance with the your heart's true for THIS is not fiction! It's real and it's something we'll experience more and more as time goes by and the veil lifts, thins and vanishes with the old way of thinking.

As a former Catholic and seminarian, I find Dolores Cannon's writings about our existence more sensible than anything else I've read.

I think I preferred reading The Custodians as The Three Waves gets a little redundant, but so far what I've read confirms something I've felt for a long time now but was lacking the proper context. I find this book extremely relevant for what's going on today. I have not read the last few chapters so when I do I'll update.Edit: Finished the book with the exception of reading like 4 peoples accounts, so like a few pages here and there but over all a great book where I found some of the accounts to mirror my experiences giving me more pieces to fit to this curious puzzle. I'm aware that some criticize Dolores for being too blinded by the light so to speak, glossing over that some of these beings may have a darker agenda but I went in with my heart open rather than my eyes whilst reading and much of it resonates. I like the energy of the book and ended it feeling hopeful, empowered and even proud.

This book answered tons of my questions about 2012 and the so-called Shift, Apocalypse, etc. Dolores does not use generic or ambiguous terminology. She straight up tells you what her research has indicated, and it is more explicit than anything else I've come across.Ever since I saw a web video of Dolores discussing the Nostradamus stuff, I immediately trusted her but forgot about her until another author recommended Dolores' book The Custodians. I am glad I read The Custodians and The Convoluted Universe series prior to reading The Three Waves of Volunteers, but I don't think these are pre-requisites. The info in The Three Waves was easier for me to read and absorb. The material is also consistent with other authors' material about the Crystal Children, the Indigo Children, the Star People, etc.There are some formatting issues with the Kindle version, for example there are a lot of quotation marks instead of apostrophes. I (did"t) let it bother me, because the information is solid and I am so glad that we are blessed with a reliable source of information about the big transition.Thanks Dolores!

I'd rather not write a long review of this book -- I simply do not know what to think. For those interested in metaphysics, I should maybe say that it goes (mostly) rather against the books of Dr Michael Newton and Brian Weiss ... It's more about aliens and ET's, and our rather intimate connection to them, which we know nothing about in our daily lives. Dolores Cannon uses a deep form of hynotherapy and gets her information in this way from her clients (or patients). As she could not possibly have made up any of these stories, it remains a deep mystery to the reader ... and whether it's all to be believed. While you read it, you believe it all. Afterwards you may start to wonder ... By all means, read it and make up your own mind. I tend to think the aliens and their worlds really do exist -- after all, what do we know about the Universe? (Or Universes?) We know nothing. Earth is a lowly, harsh planet.

Just about every answer to the questions of existence you can think of! This book is not only vital for "volunteers" (I am a mission-based, second wave volunteer, as it turns out), but is also critical for anyone searching for their purpose. Christopher Noessel is a veteran of the interaction design industry, having designed products and services, and helped clients with design strategy across many disparate domains for more than 20 years. In that time, he co-founded a small interaction design agency where he developed interactive exhibitions and environments for museums. He worked as a director of information design at international web consultancy marchFIRST, where he also helped establish the interaction design Center of Excellence. For ten years, he worked with a boutique interaction design agency in San Francisco, where he led the "generator" half of that practice. He is now the Global Design Practice Manager for the Travel and Transportation industry at IBM, working closely with IBM Design. His desk, when he's at it, sits near the San Francisco home of Watson. Christopher was one of the founding graduates of the now-passing-into-legend Interaction Design Institute Ivrea in Ivrea, Italy, where his thesis project was a comprehensive service design for lifelong learners called Fresh. The project was presented at the mLearn conference in London in 2003. I feel energized by this hopeful vision for the future of technology and empowered to change how I think about design in the present to work towards that future.

As technology moves towards this direction, we will face more challenges with how to design communicative interfaces with humans. The author makes this fun, informative and easy to understand. He's often referencing Sci-Fi or making the concepts relatable, such as the hilarity of autocorrect failures. No wonder Dahl wrote such wonderfully awful characters as Ms. Trunchbull (sp?)--he had real-life inspiration! I read his account of getting his tonsils out to my 6th grade students each year to sell them on this book: with no anesthetic, his doctor said, "Open your mouth," and when Dahl did, he darted in with a scalpel and snick-snick, Dahl spit out two globs of flesh and a lot of blood. Well-ah, a tonsillectomy! And the scene of his sister taking the family for a drive in their first car! Oh my god! She didn't know how to turn it or stop it, but she let the little kids persuade her to go faster and faster! Bones are broken! It's nuts! And his teachers. Wow. Corporal punishment with a cane. I like to read the description of being whipped with a cane to my 6th graders when they complain about how strict we are on them so they can realize how good they actually have it. They're so aghast that they argue over who gets to read the whole book. Music to my ears.

Real life good reading. Funny, Compulsive, Driving, Observant. Dahl's own story. I just kept reading and enjoying it. Almost like a book in two parts but he joins them well. One springs from within another. This man knows how to write. I was so grateful to find this book so well written and edited. Not an easy combo to find these days. Excellent, and I don't say that lightly.

Fine book; excellent writing. This is the personal tale of a master storyteller with experiences that are ordinary, yet extraordinary. As a young man working in Africa, Dahl signs up for the air corps and finds himself flying planes he was never taught to fly in battles that were never planned to be. What is most exciting about this book is that real life is more dramatic than anything that a fiction writer could dream up. It is one of the top five books I have read this year, and would highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of adventure. It is hard to portray what it's like to be up there in a Hurricane with enemy fighters after you, but Dahl does it with aplomb. I will wait a while and read this one again!

Another writer once told me that one of the most important elements to be found in a memoir is a "likeable" narrator. Roald Dahl is perhaps one of the MOST likeable of narrators. Modest to a fault and blessed with a very sly and subtle sense of humor, the story Dahl tells in GOING SOLO, his sequel to BOY, is perhaps one of the most readable memoirs of modern times. His story of the quick and almost informal training he received at a flying school in Africa shortly after Great Britain entered WWII, is hair-raising and nearly impossible to believe, except you do believe, because you trust this man. At six foot six inches tall, Dahl was physically quite unsuited to be a fighter pilot, noting that when seated in the various planes he flew, his knees were nearly under his chin and he had to hunch over to fit beneath the plane's canopy. But fly he did, even after surviving one horrific crash in the desert early on in his career as an RAF pilot. He sustained a very bad concussion (which was to come back to haunt him and finally "invalid" him out of service nearly two years later) and had his face bashed in. As he explained to his mother in a letter: "My nose was bashed in ... and the ear nose and throat man pulled my nose out of the back of my head and shaped it and now it looks just as before except that it's a little bent about ..." Dahl went on to fly many combat missions in North Africa and Greece, usually against vastly superior odds, but somehow he managed to survive until the middle of 1941, when the migraine headaches caused by the aforementioned crash made him unfit for further flying. Dahl's nearly laconic and completely unself-conscious manner of writing about the things he did - absolutely heroic things - made me think of Sam Hynes's WWII memoir of his missions in the Pacific theater. Both writers downplay the importance of their roles. They never speak of heroics or derring-do, only about the importance of their comrades, doing the jobs they were trained to do and trying their best to simply stay alive. This was an enormously satisfying, moving and often hilarious tale. After reading these two slim volumes of memoirs by Dahl, I do wish he had written another. I have ordered his slim collection of stories about WWII already. What a wonderful writer - and gentleman - Roald Dahl was. - Tim Bazzett, author of SOLDIER BOY and LOVE, WAR & POLIO

Boy and Going Solo are delightful books! Mr. Dahl writes smoothly and true. There is never any confusion for the reader. The sentences tumble from his pen, flowing in harmony across the pages as you see his life unfold. And what an interesting life! Do read it! You'll be happy you did!

I loved these books, and I highly recommend them.Before I read Roald Dahl's autobiographical books, "Boy," and "Going Solo," I thought that he wrote only children's books. What a pleasant surprise !He was a very talented writer who really knew how to tell a fascinating story, with all the wonderful details that keep a reader interested. I only wish he had written a complete autobiography.

Remarkably good WWII memoir. Dahl here is nothing like his kiddie books. "Solo" is tough, honest, and often downright grim. No romanticized WWII ace flyer bunk here!.

We have the printed and Audio versions of this book. Dan stevens does a very good job of narrating. My 9 year olds were at the edge of their seat listening.

I was hoping for much more when I first got my hands on SYRIA: THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF ASSAD by David W. Lesch. This country has been much in the news, and I've been following its deterioration quite closely. Beyond that, I've paid decades of attention to Syria since the time of Hafaz Assad.So, when I picked up this book I was expecting some insights into the structure and nature of Syrian society in general and the Baath Party in particular. After all, in examining any society it's essential to have some understanding of its deeper structures and divisions.Instead, I got pretty much an extended feed of news releases that I've been following since the Arab Spring first hit Damascus. Now if you're totally ignorant of the situation over there, I suppose that this book has some utility. But for anyone who wants to find the underlying strengths and weaknesses within the Assad regime, or how different sectarian elements inside of Syria have traditionally supported (or attempted to undermine the Assads) -- you will not find it in this book.The author makes a great deal about his personal contacts with Basher Assad and other high level Syrian officials. However, this is a very limiting perspective. It's somewhat like someone coming to Washington,DC -- interviewing some nabobs and trying to come to some conclusions about the nature of the USA. Such analyses are shallow, grounded in the "great man" theories of history. And unfortunately, I know almost as little about the nature of Syrian society as I did when I first picked up the book.In the final chapter, the author tries to give some scenarios as to anticipated paths that Syria will follow given the current state of disarray in that country. And even here, he fails. While in other parts of the book he pays some attention to the nature of power politics on the international scene, in his scenarios -- the actions of these players is almost nonexistent.For my money, I would have probably spent a wiser use of my time if I had perused Robert Fisk's old columns on Syria, or I'd gone to the BBC and Al Jazeera archives.This book is superficial in its treatment of both Assad's power base and Syrian society in general.

I found this book to be an easy read, and highly credible. The author has a background that makes him perfect to tell the story. The journey he takes you on gives one a much better understanding of what is going on now in Syria. You can see the evolution of Assad as a person, from someone unwillingly thrusted into the position he now holds and having to adapt and learn quickly to just survive, to one who became arrogant and corrupted by the power and successes he had. It is not written like a history book, instead the style of writing has you feel events unfolding as if real-time. I appreciated the author's sentiments, his initial praise for Assad, to his disappointment for what Assad has become. I think it would be very hard to get the same sense of Syria's present events in another book on Syria, this one is so personal and close to the actual events unfolding.It seems that so many books that have historical context (like this one) continually point out how stupid our foreign policy has been over the years, Bush a perfect example. This is another book that points out what could have been had we as a country a sensible approach to the middle east.Highly recommended.

The author isn't to blame. His style is definitely more impressive, and certainly richer than Dr. Ajami's "The Syrian Rebellion," but once again, the author is at a disadvantage of not knowing the deeper social dynamics, thus was unable to depict and relay those issues which helped create the Syrian sectarian dilemma.As for a serious negative point on the book, it makes the mistake of trying to depict the Syrian despot as a ruler in a dilemma of trying to balance between regional and international pressures and internal demands for freedoms. The problem is literally far more complex than that, and it wasn't given enough attention in explaining why and how the Syrian public were mobilized by the cause for freedom and how it slid into civil war. The dictator knew precisely what the social dynamics of his nation are. Due to meticulous control of the dissipation of information in the country, the regime alone is in a position of omnipotence while the population in every city or every social group knows virtually nothing about all others. This revolution, unfortunately, was the first time in which Syrians began to communicate. Suddenly, an explosion of opinions and facts began to flow in all directions. At the same time, the regime used his electronic army of trained individuals to spread misinformation, foment sectarian hatred, all the while detain the level headed activists in the nation while providing the revolutionary with the seed to arm the revolution. It provided it with actual individuals to tickle those angry emotions that had been stirred from leaked videos showing humiliating treatment of religious proportions, which only help magnify the sectarian feelings that weren't necessarily uncontrollable. The regime helped steer the revolution into a direction it thought would play to its advantage but had no idea that it would be completely out of its control once it was unleashed.

The author shows the inner dynamics of the conflict, the paranoia of the Syrian people that Assad plays to, and the divisions within the opposition.

A very thourough review of the recent troubles in Syria from a knowlegeable author without going into too much depth and analysis of the deep rooted Syrian problems.

The book gave me a lot of historical background and current affairs of Syria. After reading this book I came to know about the regime in Syria and some part of the world how they ruled their countries their own peoples.

Used it for my term paper in college level History course. Well known excellent author. Covers the subject very well .
