I ordered two for Christmas presents and they did not disappoint.Take them out to defend your personal space in the time and just enjoy.Good quality material for the DALEK and the Booklet.Package arrived in time and was properly packaged for mailing.

I have a TARDIS and the conventional Dalek from Running Press. I like both of those quite a bit. Especially the TARDIS. They are well done. This one I got after having read that it speaks 3 lines and has a light up laser. Spoiler alert: it does not have a light up laser. Whatever light up effects it does have do not seem to operate as promised. There is a light in there but it doesn't get projected anywhere. My unit is brand new and it's in otherwise tip top shape. But the way the light up feature actually works... well it quite dims my enthusiasm for the product. Meh. I recommend passing on this one unless Running Press makes needed improvements.

So poorly made, the suction cup arm broke off as it was taken out of the box!! The eyestalk was soon to follow suit. It didn't even get played with, simply handled. Very disappointed.

Received the supreme Dalek and book today. Opened the box took it out and now have to pay for new 3 new LR932 batteries! that is an extra $6.00... I am upset that this is a new item and have to replace these batteries. Highly disappointed.

Nice product, however was expecting bigger.

The book has a hard time with this balancing act as can be expected from a book focusing on data collected from such a large survey.Assuredly, the book does have some interesting, amazing and even parts but there are also too many dull moments where the data takes over and the exposition is lost.Overall, this is more of a book that you skim for the parts that interest you most than for a book that you read from cover to cover. It's not terribly disappointing. It's to be expected.Surprisingly, I learned some new things about my relationship and those of other. The book will hopefully leave you feeling that your relationship is actually pretty normal and the normal bar is broader than you ever imagined.

Just a bunch of statistics. Once in a while a story to illustrate one of the many normal and below normal findings as well as suggestions on how to become normal if your couple is in the below normal range. A forgettable book from which I could not quote you more than one statistic and it is this, harped over and over and over: most happily married couples, irrelevant of the longevity of their marriage, are having sex 3-4 times a week. It asks what do happy people want? (happy, stable relationships). And how does one achieve that - what is most important in maintaining a happy/stable relationship? (communication= #1)Everyone on this earth has 'issues'. Many folks have troubled pasts, are from broken families. For those that have not developed healthy, 'normal'; relationship skills, this is an eye opener. Presented in almost slideshow presentation style, with bullets, lots of charts & diagrams. Makes a big visual impact and summarizes information that easily digestible.

I haven't finished this book but after my husband and I had exhausted counselors a couple of times....got frustrated and almost ready to cash it in when I heard review on CBS This Morning from this author and thought I'd order it. It is easy/fun reading and very informative....and logical methods that others have rated and shows you a positive way to figure it out on your own if you follow the advise.I hope to finish it this weekend and put the ideas of this book into practice. I sure hope this works....as I was reading it I was saying "yeah....that's me and that's why I've been so frustrated". Easily relatable to my issues anyway, perhaps it is common to manyand that's why it was so reinforcing!

My Book Club chose this book. Not reading the reviews ahead, I thought the book was just about the interesting findings from the surveys, and was pleasantly surprised that it offered tools for me to use in my own relationship. I could relate and even see similar problems in my own relationship from the case studies presented that I was intrigued to see if the tool (High Fives) used to help the couple(s) in the book would help us. So far, it has brought more insight and clarified misunderstandings my husband and I have had over our 10 year marriage. The book helped keep our conversations open-minded and less defensive, and has brought us closer together as a result. This is cheaper than and as good as our couples therapist was! I would highly recommend it!

Chrisanna Northrup hit one out of the ballpark with The Normal Bar and I read A LOT of books! Personally I feel like I know more about what males and females truly want and desire in a relationship. Rekindling the romance isn't about giving one another material gifts. It is about the little things that count...the spontaneity...the surprise of doing something special for your loved one! I look forward to adjusting the bar in my intimate relationship with a man as well as in other relationships with my young children, my parents, friends, etc. Every one of us desires intimacy of some sort and it is up to us to work hard to learn what our loved ones need want and desire in this life. I've been using this book very frequently for about two years now. I had been borrowing the book from a library for a while and finally bought the book a year ago because it proved invaluable to my studies.I wanted to start off, first and foremost point out for anyone simply glancing over the reviews, this textbook is NOT a good resource for learning with no prior background or introduction to the material. This textbook IS an incredibly useful aid for people looking to supplement existing knowledge, or learn to expand on what they may all ready know. I also image if this book was used within a course that with an instructor giving a lecture, this book would be quite good additional material.I used this book as both an engineering and physics student, and outside my studies for personal projects, but never for a course that required the text. About a third of this book proved to be an excellent aid to electrical/computer engineering courses which focus on signal processing, series analysis and transform analysis. While the book doesn't specifically apply the information to that topic, it presents the mathematics used in a clear, incredibly forward way, and helped solidify knowledge on the topic that wasn't able to be presented as in depth in the time allotted by courses, or in the course textbooks.For any physics students in wave mechanics courses/quantum mechanic courses, this textbook is more than ideal. Aside from the entire chapter devoted to PDEs in quantum mechanics, the whole book contains several chapters and hundreds of pages on relevant derivations of core functions and equations, (Bessel, lagrange polynomials, etc) and approaches things you may have already known from a purely mathematical perspective, in which physics courses may have failed to fully explain. For anyone using Griffith's Introduction to Quantum mechanics textbook, this PDE book really fills in the gaps in the math in the Griffiths text.Overall, this is a great book for people already comfortable with differential equations and higher math, engineering or physics students in relevant fields, and anyone looking to add supplementary material on PDEs to their knowledge. For anyone who is not already at least slightly familiar with the topics of PDEs, fourier series analysis, transforms, etc, this book may not be for you. Many example problems are left without clear resolution, so the reader has to decide on their own how accurate they think they are in solving the examples. There are also some unclear steps taken in solving certain problems that in a few cases, create more confusion than they resolve. Aside from this, many examples ( about 75%) are in fact good and easy to follow. Based on this information, hopefully you can decide if this is a good book for you.

I was leery at first about the authors' choice to introduce applications for material not theoretically covered until later chapters (Fourier series, Bessel functions, etc.). But it didn't make the presentation less effective overall. Just made me like I was learning the dance moves before knowing where the stage was. I give it 4 instead of 5 stars because I felt it could have a number of small improvements:- better coding problems or tutorials (these are PDEs after all)- more thorough answers (yes, yes, I know this is used at universities...but university students aren't the only people who get to review books)- paperback? seriously?I felt this was a great introduction to PDEs (if you can manage to keep the cover from getting shred up or bent to heck and back).

I used this as the main text in my advanced differential equations class. I highly recommend it, it's complete in the sense that the book holds a lot of information, several semesters worth and I expect to use it as a resource in the coming years. There are many problems to work out which is always a bonus.I wish Dover would make a hardcover edition even if it was 20 bucks more.

I am an aerospace engineering graduate moving on to a masters program in the fall. I purchased this book because my degree program did not include a class geared specifically toward solving partial differential equations analytically. This book provides a great transition from solving ordinary differential equations to solving partial differential equations, as well as covering the situations that they arise in physics and engineering. I was able to follow the text on my own and answer a number of questions I had upon completion of my undergraduate studies, as well deepen my understanding of complex analysis and conformal mapping.My one complaint for this text is that there are a number of very important concepts left to the reader to discover on their own via the exercises. Most of these exercise problems walk you through the problem, but a few simply leave it up to the reader to "figure it out." This is probably the best way to learn if you have the same amount of time that the founding mathematicians did when they made such discoveries, but I would have preferred a few more explanations in the body of the text. With that said, if this book is used in the classroom, I am sure the professor and teaching assistant can make up for this discrepancy (I just wasn't fortunate enough to be in that position).

I'm an engineering student and this is easily one of the most student-friendly math books I've ever encountered! It's a little more narrative than most and easier to follow. I definitely recommend this!

Pictures are excellent, and the captions are very informative.As for the actual book, at first I thought it might have been a poor translation. Instead, it is written by somebody who has mistaken complex sentence construction for "deep thoughts". I'm an academic, and I have to read a lot of this sort of stuff for work, and I don't enjoy having to suffer through this for my recreational reading. If it wasn't for the content and the pictures, I would have given it one star, that's how painful the writing is.

This is the book for you. There is also another one, "Building the Japanese House Today" by Len Brackett And Peggy Landers Rao which is an excellent companion book. These books delve into the actual building of a home the "Japanese" way, from choosing woods to joints, to mats to tea rooms to sample floor plans to.... infinity and beyond! Everything you need to know about Japanese home architecture is covered or so it seems... (I say that because I'm not finished with either but am using them side by side). Excellent material. What else can I say.

I am totally into Japanese designs and carpentry, this book is a gem! Highly recommended!

Great starter book for the new or review for the seasoned artist. Good coverage of terms. I did like the intro into painting mediums.

This book contains extremely basic information. It is written in poor English and contains typographical errors. I would not recommend you purchase it.

I didnâ€™t like the idea of having very few instructional pictures. A beginner might not understand the procedures. I think a person that has done stained glass and has put it down for a while would enjoy it to refresh themselves.
